I have so many posts I'm working on. Please be patient!
I decided to unwisely embark upon the journey of making a handmade gift for Christmas for a friend and it's only halfway done. Said friend might or might not be reading this blog, so I'll leave the details sparse, but you can imagine how I'm feeling.
I also have a post about a book club I joined... a post meant to go out at the beginning of the month, but I had like, way too many thoughts. Whoops!
I have a post in the pipeline about One Piece, just a silly little listicle, but I'm putting off publishing it (even though the bulk of it has already been written) until I hit a certain point in a thing I'm reading.
And speaking of reading, I need to finish one more book before the year ends to mark off as complete my New Years' resolution for this year. And I have to do some preliminary work for my resolution next year. So that's gonna be fun.
Once all of that is done, if I participate in book club this month too, I'll have to make a short post at the start of january giving some brief thoughts on that book too... You can expect a post talking about the books I read in 2025 sometime early next year. Twice as hefty as last year's, since I read twice the books. (Don't do this)
Miscellaneous things in the backburner include: ranting about a gacha character, a weird CSS experiment I need to finish, an anecdote about the Angry Videogame Nerd, and maybe maybe maybe far flung into the future, a listicle of some of my favourite youtube videos to rewatch.
Finally, essays. I have the entire skeleton of that The Summer Hikaru Died essay I've been teasing for a year saved as an audio file which I'll get around to transcribing... sometime in january, maybe. I also have most of a weird thing about labubus, but I'm not sure if I should publish it at all; I'll hand it over to some friends to get them to tell me if I'm talking crazy or if I'm cooking, and if I'm cooking, I'll share it... The book club post has sort of become an essay too. We'll see.
I have kind of a "youtube channel" approach to my posts. You know how sometimes video essayists are gone for I don't know how long before dropping a five-hour bomb? My speed is to be gone for two or three months and then post an essay the length of a short story. And occasionally intersperse with listicles.
This post is mostly me venting about the sheer amount of writing I have to finish to put up on this blog... It's a chore, but a lovely one. It's nice to slowly build something interesting and maybe even worth perusing. Right?
I dunno. Thanks for reading this blog throughout the year. It's been my first spin-around-the-sun on Bearblog and it's been really nice! I've enjoyed my time here a lot.
