I took blaugust off

last modified 4 weeks ago

It wasn't on purpose, I just kinda had exams. Well, I had exams in july, and then it was august and I was asleep, and then classes started again and also my entire life was a mess because I did nothing but sleep and play the Sims for like three weeks. So I postponed writing for this blog, mostly (I have a thing I'm publishing on the 15th that I wrote back in mid-July lol).

I also did not check my RSS feeds. Well, I checked them infrequently. I looked at 'em, two weeks passed, and then I looked at 'em again. Hey, people want a slower internet and I'm delivering the customer experience for that...

I saw that some people were undergoing a blogging challenge in august called blaugust. I like that name: blaugust. Blaugust. Blauuuugh-ust. Really, really good.

But I don't really like doing writing challenges. Writing is already so challenging — like, english isn't even my first language (admittedly I would write so much worse in spanish lol). And also, august was a crazy month for me, for aforementioned reasons.

So I took it off!

And now it's september, and I actually... want to write? Crazy. Madness. Insanity, even. And I think it's at least partially 'cause I took august off.

...I really wish I could now be like, "and so, actually, my blaugust was to not post on bearblog at all, and this is how I blauged, and how I improved my blaug, ha ha ha ha!". But saying that felt dishonest. That's not what I did! I wasn't actively not-blogging, I was passively not-blogging, and I think there's a difference...

But maybe next year, I'll take winter off blogging and it'll be more meaningful because I'll be doing it on purpose. Wouldn't that be fun? I think a two- or three-month break from blogging of all things is super-duper chic. Maybe it should be a thing. Right?

That's about it, this is a short post. I don't actually know what I'll be doing with this blog next year. Maybe I'll have nuked it from orbit (deleted it). Who's to say?

But as long as this post stays up then, well...

thank you for reading!
